Salary:

60,128 - 69,983 DOE + £5,000 AOG payment

1. Job Purpose

The Storm Aviation GoTeam is a business-critical function responsible for recovering customer Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events and executing special projects safely, compliantly, and efficiently by leveraging both internal capabilities across the Storm Aviation network and trusted third-party service providers. The Maintenance Control Centre (MCC) role enhances the customer experience by providing a single point of contact for all AOG-related communications and coordination activities. This centralised approach improves response times, strengthens operational oversight, and ensures a consistent and professional service delivery model. In addition, the role supports the continued development of Storm Aviation's AOG and Special Projects capability, reinforcing the company's strategic position within the aviation industry and further differentiating Storm Aviation as a premium MRO service provider.

2. Job Accountabilities

2.1 Operations

Develop and deliver bespoke solutions to support customer AOG events and special project requirements. Produce comprehensive AOG recovery and project plans, including timelines, estimated return-to-service dates, resource requirements, and critical path activities. Manage AOG recoveries and special projects on a global scale, ensuring activities are executed safely, efficiently, and effectively to minimise operational disruption for customers. Maintain a proactive and dynamic communication process, providing timely, accurate, and regular updates to all internal and external stakeholders. Support the Operations Manager with the day-to-day operation of the MCC department. Apply strong commercial awareness when making operational decisions, ensuring consideration is given to customer impact, business objectives, costs, and service delivery.

2.2 Compliance

Ensure compliance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, and approved working practices throughout all AOG recovery and special project activities. Maintain a strong awareness of the Company's Health & Safety policies and ensure personnel under their supervision adhere to approved methods and safe working practices to minimise risk to personnel, aircraft, equipment, and the environment. Promote and uphold company policies relating to Know Your Customer (KYC), supplier approval, and third-party engagement, ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with established governance and compliance requirements.

2.3 Cost Control

Record and track expenditure incurred during AOG recoveries to support accurate customer invoicing. Raise purchase requisitions in accordance with company procedures. Monitor project costs and support effective budget control where applicable.

2.4 Procurement, Logistics and Administration

Assist with the planning, coordination, and booking of travel, accommodation, and ground transportation to support AOG recoveries and special projects. Support the procurement and logistics of standard parts, consumables and expendables (C&E), tooling, and other resources required to ensure successful project delivery. Coordinate with internal departments and approved external suppliers to secure the resources, services, and technical support necessary to facilitate safe, efficient, and timely AOG recoveries.

3. Communication and Working Relationships

3.1 Internal

Senior Management The MCC Controller shall provide high-level updates and information to Senior Management as required. Middle Management The MCC Controller shall provide specialist technical, regulatory, and safety advice to middle management teams. Operational and Support Staff The MCC Controller shall provide specialist technical, regulatory, and safety guidance to operational and support personnel.

4. Working Conditions

The role is based at Storm Aviation's office in Stansted. The standard working pattern is Monday to Friday, with working hours from 07:30 to 16:00, including a 30-minute lunch break. Due to the operational nature of the role, occasional travel may be required to support AOG recoveries, special projects, and other business activities. This may include the provision of on-site management support, operational oversight, and participation in Management of Change (MoC) activities.

5. Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge

5.1 Qualifications and Education

Candidates should possess one of the following: A recognised apprenticeship within the aircraft maintenance industry or a related discipline; or A Part-66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence; or A university degree in Aircraft Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related field; or A minimum of five years' relevant experience within the aviation industry.

5.2 Experience and Knowledge

Proven technical experience within the aviation maintenance industry. Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance planning, production planning, and resource coordination. Demonstrated experience leading change initiatives and delivering operational and productivity improvements. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across internal teams, customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. Reliable, professional, and capable of performing effectively under pressure while managing competing priorities in a dynamic operational environment.

5.3 Personal Attributes

Strong technical knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance practices. Ability to perform effectively under pressure while responding to operational demands and time-critical situations. Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability when managing rapidly changing priorities and operational requirements. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Highly organised with a structured and methodical approach to planning, coordination, and problem-solving.
