Experienced Part 21 Electrical / Avionics Engineer
ROLE OVERVIEW
Seeking an experienced Part 21 Electrical / Avionics Engineer to support the design and certification of large aircraft modification programmes. The role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, leading design and certification activities, and producing technical documentation to support aircraft modifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identify engineering requirements and develop technical solutions for aircraft modification projects.
• Lead and support electrical and avionics design activities, ensuring compliance with certification and design requirements.
• Lead certification activities, including test witnessing and compliance demonstration.
• Produce and review engineering documentation, including:
• Wiring diagrams
• Installation and harness fabrication drawings
• Modification instructions and service bulletins
• Continued Airworthiness documentation (ICA supplements, wiring manuals, system schematics, EWIS assessments)
• Produce and review certification documentation, including:
• Electrical Load Analysis (ELA)
• Test plans and reports
• Compliance statements
• System Safety, Equipment Qualification and EWIS documentation
• Certification programmes
• Represent the engineering team during design reviews, customer meetings, and aircraft embodiment activities.
• Provide technical support throughout project delivery.
• Support and mentor less experienced engineers.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Avionics, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
• Experience working within an EASA Part 21J Design Organisation (or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of EASA airworthiness and certification requirements, including CS-25, FAR-25, JAR-25 and (E)TSO standards.
• Experience with aircraft electrical and avionics systems modifications.
• Experience delivering complex aircraft modification programmes.
• Ability to produce and approve certification and compliance documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Familiarity with OEM engineering data, specifications and standards.
DESIRABLE
• Previous or current appointment as an EASA Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE).
• Experience with aircraft interior modifications.
• Approval scope covering electrical, avionics and/or software disciplines.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Occasional national and international travel may be required.
• Candidates must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
