Role:

A Licensed Engineer

Location:

Luton

Hours:

5,5,4 days/nights, 12 hour shifts

Salary:

£43,260 + £7,000 shift pay

UKCAA Licence:

A320 type rating ideal but not essential, as long as they have experience with A320.

Must have the right to work in the UK as sponsorship not provided.

Job Purpose

The A-Licensed Engineer / Mechanic is responsible for carrying out aircraft maintenance activities in accordance with approved maintenance data, company procedures, and regulatory requirements. The role supports the safe and efficient operation of customer aircraft while maintaining the highest standards of airworthiness, safety, quality, and operational performance.

Job Accountabilities

Carry out aircraft maintenance activities in accordance with approved maintenance data, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Maintain licence, company authorisations, qualifications, and mandatory training required to perform duties.

Ensure all maintenance documentation, inspection records, and production paperwork are completed accurately and in compliance with company and legal requirements.

Maintain a high standard of workmanship, ensuring aircraft safety, airworthiness, and quality standards are upheld at all times.

Ensure tooling, equipment, vehicles, and ground support equipment used are serviceable and any defects are reported promptly.

Maintain a working knowledge of current maintenance procedures, technical instructions, and company processes.

Support effective shift handovers and maintain clear communication with colleagues, supervisors, customers, and interfacing departments.

Utilise available resources efficiently to ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, effectively, and within operational requirements.

Undertake additional tasks and projects as required to support station operations and business objectives.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Perform aircraft maintenance tasks within the scope of licence, authorisation, and competence.

Maintain acceptable standards of airworthiness, safety, quality, and operational performance while supporting customer on-time performance (OTP) targets.

Ensure compliance with all applicable EASA, UK CAA, customer, and company requirements.

Adhere to all approved maintenance procedures, technical instructions, directives, notices, and documentation requirements.

Ensure all work carried out is accurately recorded and certified where authorised.

Maintain awareness of current technical publications, notices, engineering instructions, and company communications.

Support the achievement of station operational objectives through effective teamwork and communication.

Report safety concerns, hazards, incidents, and equipment defects in accordance with company procedures.

Promote and maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment in line with Health & Safety requirements.

Maintain effective communication with Shift Supervisors, Station Management, Maintenance Control, and customer representatives.

Ensure vehicle and ground support equipment inspections are completed in accordance with CAP 642 requirements where applicable.

Participate in shift briefings, operational meetings, and training activities as required.

Assist with maintaining accurate shift logs and ensuring continuity of information between shifts.

Carry out any additional duties reasonably requested by the Shift Supervisor or Station Manager to support operational requirements.

Who We’re Looking For:

Licence: UKCAA - A320 experience

Proven Experience: line maintenance expertise on commercial aircraft

Qualification: Diploma, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification

Right to work: Applicants must have right to work in the UK (sponsorship not provided)
